- Source Notes:
- Family Vacation was originally brewed to quench the thirst of locals coming back from a day of skiing and was inspired by a wildly popular Midwestern brewed cream ale. Over the past 5 years, Roadhouse Brewing Co. has taken the liberty of adjusting the recipe to ensure it's always crushable!
- Notes:
- Mash at 152 F with a thin grist/water ratio. Boil 60 minutes. Ferment at 69 F (if possible, raise temperature to 72 F when gravity has reached 1.012/3 or when terminal for a diacetyl rest). Cool to 32 F (step cooling will reduce chill haze). Add fining agent of your choice and rest at 32 F for 3-7 days or until clarity is to your liking. Carbonate to 2.5-2.6 volumes CO2 and enjoy! For fun, you can dry hop or add fruit to this beer. Roadhouse Brewing has done both. If fruiting, we recommend adding fruit during fermentation to ensure all sugars are consumed before packaging. If dry hopping, pick your favorite and go light, as this is a delicate beer and a little goes a long way.
