Blockhead Bob's Certificates
I have come to the realization that I absolutely love learning just about everything and anything. Here are some examples of the on-going professional training I have had the opportunity to take advantage of.
Web Development
I have developed an increased interest in web development for the display and capture of data. Recently I have been trying to take advantage of whatever opportunities I can to increase my skills in this area. I have also audited several additional Coursera courses for PHP and MySQL through the University of Michigan, but they are no longer offering certificates for these free versions of the course. Many thanks to professor Charles Severance at UM for his extremely informative and entertaining programming courses and his involvement with Coursera.
GIS

Some of the on-going GIS training I've completed to maintain skills for installing and configuring GIS Web Servers, understanding the ArcGIS Server REST API, developing Web Apps with the ArcGIS Javascript API, spatial data analytics, and generally staying on top of industry trends and software updates.
Programming
I've come to despise repetitively pushing buttons on computers and have attempted to learn programming languages to automate any task that I find myself repeating. This has focused mostly on the Python scripting language since it is interwoven in the ArcGIS systems, but I have also meddled with C# and VB .NET, and VBA as well.
University of Denver/CPW Leadership Development Program
I was nominated and selected to participate in the high level University of Denver/Colorado Parks and Wildlife Leadership Development Program. This program, focusing on self-awareness, relationship management, and spheres of influence; offered me the opportunity to grow as both a leader and person. It was a great experience learning more about myself, as well as team dynamics and team building. These insights have helped improve my communication skills with others and as a result has made me more effective in influencing greater positive impacts within the agency.
